How to edit the text of a PDF in your browser
To edit a PDF, open the PDF editor, select the text you want to change and type over it. You can also move or delete pictures and shapes and add new text, then save a document that keeps every change.

Steps
- Open Edit PDF and add the document.
- Select a line of text and type the new words.
- Select pictures or shapes to nudge or delete them.
- Add new text where you need it, then save.
When text cannot be selected
If nothing on a page can be selected, the page is a scan: a picture of the text rather than text. Run OCR PDF first and the words become editable.
Editing compared with annotating
Editing changes the document itself. If you only want to mark it up for someone else, with highlights, boxes and comments, Annotate PDF is the better tool.
