How to redact a PDF so the text is really gone
To redact a PDF, open Redact PDF, mark the areas to remove and apply. The words, pictures and fields under each mark are taken out of the file and the area is blacked out, so nothing can be copied or searched.

Steps
- Open Redact PDF and add the document.
- Draw a box over each area to remove.
- Apply the redaction.
- Download the redacted copy and share that one.
Why a black box is not enough
Drawing a black rectangle over text in most editors only hides it. The words are still in the file and can be copied out or found by search. Redaction removes them.
Check before you send
Search the redacted copy for a word you removed. It should not be found. Keep the original somewhere safe, since redaction cannot be undone.
