Install the desktop app
Install PDF Loft on Windows, macOS or Linux, open PDF files from your computer and keep the app up to date.
Install the app
- Open the Download page and choose the installer for your system. Until an installer is listed, the page shows Coming soon.
- Run the installer. On macOS, open the disk image and drag PDF Loft to Applications. On Windows, run the setup program. On Linux, install the package or run the AppImage.
- Open PDF Loft and sign in. To sign in with Google or another provider, choose Sign In With Your Browser from the PDF Loft menu. The sign-in finishes in your browser and returns to the app.
Open files in the app
- Right-click a PDF file and choose Open With, then PDF Loft. You can also drag files onto the PDF Loft window.
- The file appears under Files sent to PDF Loft. Choose a tool, then choose Use in this tool beside the file.
- The file leaves your computer only when you run a tool that works on our servers. Tools that run on your device never upload it.
What else the app does
- To print, choose Print from the File menu.
- The app checks for updates shortly after it starts and every few hours. It asks before it installs an update, and restarts to finish.
- The app needs an internet connection. When it cannot reach PDF Loft, it shows a notice with a Try again button.
- An organization can manage the server address and updates for its computers with a policy.
