Use PDF Loft on your phone

Get started

• The app is not in the App Store or Google Play yet. When it is published, install PDF Loft from there and sign in with the same email address as on the website. The Download page shows Coming soon until then.
• To sign in with Google or another website method, choose Continue with Google or another method. Your browser opens, then returns to the app.
• Turn on Lock the app with Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint in the Account tab to be asked for Face ID, Touch ID or your fingerprint when you return to the app.
• On an iPhone you can also choose Sign in with Apple. Add a passkey under Passkeys in the Account tab to sign in with your fingerprint or face.

Scan a document

1. Open the Scan tab and select Scan pages.
2. Frame each page. The edges are found and straightened for you. Add more pages and reorder them if you need to.
3. Choose Colour, Greyscale or Black and white for the whole document. Black and white suits printed text. Turn a page, or scan one page again, from its row.
4. Select Make the PDF, then save the PDF to your library, share it, or make its text searchable.

Tools and the library

• On the phone, tools run on our servers and show their progress. The file is uploaded and deleted when the run finishes, and a result is deleted 2 hours after it is made unless you save it to the library.
• Open a document in the Library and choose Fill, sign or mark up to fill in a form, sign it or mark it up. Each result is saved as a new version and the earlier version is kept. Showing a page to place a signature counts as one task.
• In the Library, open a document and choose Keep a copy on this phone to read it without a connection. Notes you add offline are sent when you are back online.

Open files from other apps

• Share a PDF or a picture to PDF Loft from the share sheet, or open a PDF from Files, then save it to the library or use it in a tool.

Notifications and your account

• Choose which notices the phone shows under Notifications in the Account tab.
• Finished tasks, invitations and plan limits reach the phone as notices once you turn notifications on. Each kind can be switched off on its own.
• You can delete your account in the app under Delete account. It works as on the website: the account is deleted 14 days after you confirm, and you can cancel until then.
