Send a document for signature
Ask other people to sign a PDF. They need no account, and you see each step on a timeline.
Send a request
- Open Sign from the top of any screen and select New request.
- Choose the document: a PDF from the library, a PDF you upload now, or a template.
- Add each signer's name and email address, and choose whether they sign one after the other or all at once.
- Choose a kind of field and a signer, then select a place on a page for each signature, date, text or checkbox.
- Choose who can open the request, the language of the emails, an expiry day and how often to remind.
- Select Send for signature. Each signer gets an email with their own link.
After you send
- The request page shows who has opened and who has signed, and a timeline in which each entry is tied to the one before it, so a change shows.
- When everyone has signed you get two separate downloads: the signed document and the completion certificate, which records every step of the signing.
- Remind a signer, or everyone, at any time. A reminder gives them a new link, and the old one stops working. You can also cancel a request that is not complete.
Limits and who can see it
- Sending counts as one signature request of your plan each month: 2 on Free, 50 on Pro, 300 on Team and 1,500 on Business. The usage page shows how many are left.
- A private request opens only for you, not even for the account's owner. An account request opens for everyone in the account.
- Owners and admins make templates, which keep the signer roles and where each role signs. Everyone can send with a template, or send one document to many people with bulk send.
- The PDF Loft mobile app lists your signature requests and shows who has signed. It also sends reminders, cancels a request, downloads the signed document and its certificate, and sends a library document for signature. Signers still sign on the web page their email links to.
- To send requests from your own software or from an AI assistant, use the signature API or the MCP server. Read the developer guide to sending for signature.
