How PDF Loft protects your files and account
Where your files are processed, how long they are kept and what protects your account.
Your files
- A tool that runs in your browser never uploads your file. A tool that runs on our servers uploads it over an encrypted connection and deletes it when the run finishes.
- Only your account can open your files. People in other accounts cannot see them, and inside a team a private document opens only for the person who saved it.
- Before a tool on our servers reads a PDF, any script in it, and any action that would open a program or a web address, is removed, so the file you get back never carries them. The pages, links to web pages and bookmarks stay.
- A new document is private until you share it. Its pages are counted and it is checked for viruses as it is saved.
- A file you upload but never run a tool on is deleted an hour after it arrives. Documents you save to your library are kept until you delete them.
Your account
- Protect sign-in with two-step verification or a passkey, and keep your recovery codes somewhere safe.
- Open Devices and sessions to see every device that is signed in and to end any of them.
- A team can control who gets in with roles, single sign-on and automatic provisioning.
Your data
- Statistics about how the website is used load only after you accept them in the cookie notice.
- You can download a copy of your data. The download link lasts 24 hours.
- You can delete your account. The deletion waits 14 days, and you can cancel it until then.
- Read the Privacy page for the kinds of service providers that handle data.
