Get started with PDF Loft

Run your first tool

1. Open a tool from the Tools page and choose your file or files. You do not need to sign in to run it.
2. Press Start. A tool that runs in the browser keeps your file on your device. Any other tool uploads it to our servers.
3. When the result is ready, press Download. You are asked to create a free account or sign in.
4. After you verify your email address, the result is added to your account and can be downloaded from the screen that opens. It counts as one task on your account.

Where your file goes

• Each tool says whether it runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your device, or on our servers. The phone apps and the API always run tools on our servers.
• Download the result, or select Save to the library to keep it. A result you do not save is deleted 2 hours after it is made, and the page shows the exact time. The files you gave the tool are deleted when it finishes.
• A file you save to your library is private until you share it. Read How PDF Loft protects your files and account for what is kept, where and for how long.
